Caleh

Secondary Role: N/A

Background

Lore:

Zaun isn't exactly known for its exquisite and well-developed culture; in fact, far from it. With the ever-present Zaun Gray polluting the air and everyone at each other's back with a knife at hand, it's no wonder this unruly state fails to make a positive name for itself. However, the inhabitants of it are more than accustomed to its conditions, if not entirely satisfied, as they somehow manage to go about their lives with as less problems as possible. And, if you asked some of them, they just might be able to tell you where to go for a good time… by their standards, of course. One of these places is Caleh's Cuisine. Located in Bridgewaltz, it is restaurant renowned for its fine meat. But the man who makes the meat, even more. Big as the elnuks he carves with his cleaver, Caleh would serve anyone indiscriminately in his restaurant. And for the truly desperate and poor, he would even offer a meal for free, most of which were orphaned children. But for those that take advantage of this creed, such insolent cretins would be shown the door with nothing at hand. Though a charitable and respectable man, unlike the average Zaunite, he would soon find himself changed forever, completely devoid of the hospitality that once made him, as it all started when Afail Kaisaf, one of the more eccentric Chem-Barons of Zaun, approached Caleh. In contrast to his slim stature, Afail was a man of fine taste who enjoyed a good meal. Fascinated by Caleh's dishes, he proposed that the renowned meal-maker would become his own personal chef. Though initially contemplative, Caleh quickly realized that this would mean living in better conitions. And with a handshake, Caleh's quality of life rose exponentially. Living in the estate of Zaun's most respected demography, life suddenly become less stressful. And he even got his very own assistant, a robot named Vase, which he mainly used refrigerate meat. Alas, the luxuries of living by the side of a Chem-Baron wouldn't last long. As what people don't know about Kaisaf is that he was a practitioner of forbidden magic, namely the type that connects to the Meadow of Crimson Clouds. This also explains why he has absolutely no physical augmentation, as he uses magic to sustain he fragile physique. But being the personal chef of Kaisaf, Caleh inadvertently eavesdropped on one of his sinister plan: to completely eradicate the lower layers of Zaun's society, among the orphaned children who would visit Caleh's Cuisine. Refusing to let it happen, Caleh snuck into the Baron's personal chamber on one convenient night, and found the grimoire that connected Runeterra to the Meadow of Crimson Clouds, Kaisaf's catalyst of all his accomplishments. Without even knowing what had transpired, Caleh found himself in a vast meadow of red, bathed in red light, the clouded skies as red as blood. It was the Meadow of Crimson Clouds, a realm inhabited by otherworldly beings who seek to establish "professional" relationships. But Caleh did not know what to do, as he found himself standing on red grass knowing not what to do. And from the distance, something was moving toward him. And as it closer, it suddenly became that it was some kind of monster walking on four legs, having no face but instead a hungry grimace filled with teeth. Introducing himself as the Glutton, he was attracted to the smell of fine meat that emanated from Caleh. The Glutton asked for food and in return, he will provide a favor. Caleh asked that he would kill the Kaisaf and his associates. The Glutton agreed, and with that the contract had been signed. So the time came when Kaisaf and his family would host party. And out of nowhere came the Glutton, with Caleh by his side, as he chewed and gorged on every one of them. And for the desert, a little girl. Crying in the corner helplessly, the Glutton could not hold back the waterfall of saliva that was drooling from his face of a mouth. But Caleh asked that he spare the girl, as she had no involvement in this ordeal. The Glutton refused, and Caleh was forced to fight him. Standing victorious and the Glutton now forced back to the meadow, Caleh soon felt an excruciating pain crushing his head. Whispering into his ear, the Glutton explained that he breached the contract that he agreed on, and therefore will have to wear the Crest of the Breacher. Now, Caleh must eternally offer tribute to the Glutton, lest he devours the world. When he came to, Caleh found himself amidst a gallery of mutilated corpses. With the girl he tried to save now gone, knowing not what had happen to her, he realized that he is now cursed. With the fate of the world now resting on his shoulders, Caleh must now kill make sure that no one else is killed, as he relinquishes the traits that once made him a nice man. Since there is no place for kindness among those that wear the Crest of the Breacher. But as he now kills, Caleh hopes that one day he can return to who he truly is: a man who enjoyed sharing his food with the world. But until then, he only thinks to himself: "Why didn't I read the contract?"

Appearance:

Caleh is a large man. He wears red Zaunite jeans-esque pants and a bloody butcher's apron over nothing, showing his exposed back. He Wears the Crest of the Breacher, which looks like a crude painful-looking crown with crude metallic horns coming out of various points of it. The Crest covers his scalp and eyes entirely. He holds in his hand the Coiling Heart, an impromptu weapon which is a customized metal stick coiled with several layers of razor wire. Vase takes the appearance of a mechanical vase, roughly half the size of Caleh, who walks on eight tentril-like electrical cords. The Glutton has the body of red-orange lion, but three times the size of it. As mentioned in the lore, his "face" is a giant human mouth with no lips, exposed teeth and a constant grimace.

Abilities

!My Fault alone
P

Instead of mana, Caleh uses Collected Tribute, which he has maximum of 100 at all time. He gains 5 Collected Tribute for basic attacks against non-champion units and 10 against champions.

Caleh has a unique UI located above his items, comprising 2 bars and an activation button. The upper bar representing the countdown until the Glutton comes to the battlefield and the lower bar representing the amount of Offered Tribute the Glutton currently has. The countdown has a cap of 60 seconds, which starts counting down at 2 minutes into the game, only when Caleh is alive, and resets every time he respawns after death, and the Offered Tribute has a cap of 1000. Caleh can at any time press the button on the UI to order Vase, who has 350% of Caleh's movement speed, to head to back to the fountain to store the Offered Tribute to the Glutton and subsequently return to Caleh. The countdown increases by 0.2 second for every Offered Tribute stored. Once the countdown ends, the Glutton is freed from its prison and runs to Caleh's side. Upon release, the Glutton has 400% of Caleh's movement speed until leaving 5500 units from the fountain, 15 seconds have passed, or entering combat. The Glutton's maximum health is increased by 0.35/1.675/3 (levels 1/8/15) and his basic attack damage by 0.05% for every Offered Tribute stored before release in addition to his base health. The Glutton remains indefinitely by Caleh's side until either he or himself dies. If Caleh dies during combat while the Glutton is still summoned, then, unless killed, the Glutton will remain alive until he leaves combat, after which he will die too. Once the Glutton dies, My Fault Alone! goes on cooldown for 45/40/35 seconds (levels 1/8/15).

Notes: As the description implies, Caleh will constantly have to make sure that the timing of the Glutton's summon is appropriate by constantly storing Tribute. So it's not entirely in the player's control..

Flesh Grater
Q

11 seconds (-1s every rank) | 800 Range | 200 Width | 0.3s Cast Time

Caleh Thrusts the Coiling Heart in a line, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+80% AD) physical damage to all enemies and gaining 5 Collected Tribute per non-champion hit and 10 per champion hit. Flesh Grater gains increased damage based on the largest current amount Caleh recently had, by 0.3/0.35/0.4/0.45/0.5% per Collected Tribute. Upon using Flesh Grater, the damage increase bonus resets.

Notes: The damage increase component is kinda hard to describe with words. Let's say you have 70 Collected Tribute and you have 1 rank of Flesh Grater, so that's a damage increase of 21%. But you send Vase to store the Tribute, so normally you'd think that the bonus is gone because now you have less. Well not exactly, since the damage increase still applies, and only resets once you use the ability. This is to ensure that Caleh won't have the hard life choice of choosing between stacking Tribute and storing it for the Glutton.

Coiled Tendons
W

16 seconds (-1 every rank) | 900 Range | 0.25s Cast Time

Caleh swings the Coiling Heart, throwing a line of razor wire in a line. Upon hitting an enemy, they are shackled for 5 seconds and take 30/60/90/120/150 (+50% AD) physical damage whenever they dash or per second whenever they move. Basic attacks against shackled enemies deal 25% more damage.

Notes: "shackled" is a new type of crowd control that removes all bonus movement speed from the afflicted and prevents them from benefitting from it for the duration. It's not exactly a slow, but it has similar applications.

Grace of the Meadow
E

14 seconds (-1 every rank)

Caleh gains 10% damage mitigation for 3 seconds. Once the duration ends, he heals for 60/70/80/90/100% of all the damage he took during that time over 4 seconds. 100% of the mitigated damage during this time is converted to Collected Tribute.

Notes: The Collected Tribute he gains from the ability only comes from the 10% damage mitigation, and no other source.

...For Now
R

120 seconds (-10s every rank) | 600 Cast Range | 300 Effect Radius |

Caleh conjures a portal at a target location and summons the Glutton after a 0.6 delay, dealing 250/450/650 (+100% AP) magic damage to all enemies hit and knocking them up for 0.75 second. Afterwards, the Glutton takes Caleh's side, complete with the bonuses of My Fault Alone! based on the amount of Offered Tribute during the activation. For Now… can also be used while the Glutton is on the battle field and can be used even if My Fault Alone! is on cooldown. He is summoned regardless.

Notes: The ultimate is another method to allow the player to summon the Glutton in a more controlled fashion. So he doesn't lose any bonuses.

This ability can also be used while the Glutton on the battlefield. Doing so will cause the Glutton to disappear, only to reappear at the portal's location.

Though the Glutton can be summoned regardless of the passive, it's important to take into consideration the amount of Offered Tribute currently stored. As re-summoning the Glutton immediately after he died, or something similar, will cause him to appear with the bonuses based on the amount of Offered Tribute. So having the Glutton come to your side when you had 1000 Offered Tribute, and then immediately ulting when you have 0, is kind of a bad idea since he will lose the bonuses he just got.

Miscellaneous Notes
