Beringer

Primary Role: Burst

Secondary Role: N/A

Background

Lore:

"Sacred" is not a word that exists in the Bilgerat's vocabulary, at least not as far as outsiders are concerned. More times than none, Runeterra views Bilgewater as the one place anyone would want to stay away from, unless you want to have a bad time. Even among those that are somewhat sacred, there is a basis of strength and strife. At least, they like to consider themselves sacred because they worship a god. Of course, most Bilgerats don't meddle in the affairs of the priests of Buhru, mainly because their religion of Nagakabourous is too pretentious to even bother with, especially when the common Bilgerat is more invested in obtaining gold in any way possible. Surely, worshipping a god won't do anything to pave the way to fortune. And although the common Bilgerat is aware of this, to the inhabitants of Buhru, it doesn't mean much. However, it's not to say that some individual priests don't question the way they conduct their lives. That faith should not come at the expense of fortune. Such was the realization of one particular priest by the name of Biatl. A cynic by heart, Biatl only practiced the religion of the island out of sheer tradition and appreciation for his kin, though he himself didn't want anything to do with it. However, with no one to express his true opinion to, Biatl continued to worship Nagakabouros and continue the island's practice while holding to the frustration that he cannot truly do anything about it. But despite his reluctance, no one really berated him for it, mainly because he never talked about it and his outstanding grasp on magic. Nevertheless, Biatl was dissatisfied with anything that went about his life. However, that would soon change on one bright night, as it was just a regular walk on the borders of the island, bathing in the light of the moon. As Biatl walked on the sand, he suddenly felt a chill on his toe. Looking benath his foot, what he saw was a Golden Kraken. What was special about it? Nothing really, as it was just one regular Golden Kraken, like all the other coins. However, Biatl decided to take it out of sheer boredom. Though what would at first seem like a mundane decision would soon decree the rest of his life. Because as his frustration grew over his monotonous, repetitive existence, Biatl had to make the one decision that could make his life better: To leave Buhru, or to stay. Uncertain about which is the right choice, he contemplated for days about it, but could never reach a resolve. So he realized that if he cannot decide for himself, someone else will have to decide for him, or, more accurately, something. He took the Golden Kraken he found on that one night and tossed it into the air. Heads means leaving; tails means staying. And the result: heads. And with that, Biatl left Buhru, completely separating himself from the culture of Nagakabouros, now free to do as he sees fit. Some years have passed, and Biatl has found his place as a mercenary in Bilgewater, relying on his magic to get his work done. Now renaming himself Beringer to completely separate himself from his past life, he has realized that the one decision he made that day was the most truthful he has ever done. Which wasn't even his to begin with, but that one Golden Kraken he flipped in the air, which he affectionately refers to as Headshot, and ever since then he found nothing but success. Now, Beringer is a mercenaries who bases his decision on binary principles, or more accurately, on the flip of a coin. And so far, he had no regrets, and who is to say that he's wrong. Because he might be wrong, but the coin will always be right, because there is no right or wrong when it comes to something that can only be answered by yes or no. There is only heads… or tails.

Appearance:

Beringer has olive skin much like the rest of the residents of Buhru. He wears mercenary-esque Bilgerat clothes with a slight indication that he was a former priest of the religion of Nagakabouros. He constanly carries with him his signature Headshot, which is just a regular Golden Kraken. But to him it means a lot.
